Chronic diseases such as heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes account for 7 out of every 10 deaths (1.7 million) in the US and affect the quality of life for 90 million Americans. (CDC)
Injuries (both unintentional and intentional) are the cause of 1 out of every 17 deaths in the US (Healthy People 2010).
In Chester County, chronic diseases and injuries are among the most prevalent, serious, and costly health problems. From 2000-2004 the chronic disease listed below accounted for 70% of all deaths in Chester County.(Pennsylvania Department of Health).

CDIP specializes in developing programs and services designed to promote healthy lifestyle choices. Programs and services are available to all Chester County residents, schools/universities, community and faith-based organizations and work sites.
